Pipe Collars, Wrap Strips & Sleeves
Plastic pipe is the hardest thing to firestop: in a fire, PVC, CPVC, ABS and PEX melt away and leave an open hole. Intumescent collars and wrap strips solve it — they expand inward with enough force to crush the softening pipe and seal the opening completely.
Steel pipe collars (1.5" to 6") mount to the wall or floor around the pipe and are the standard for larger plastic pipe. Wrap strips tuck into the annular space before sealing — the flexible option for mid-size penetrations and multi-pipe bundles. The universal collar roll cuts to any size on site. Intumescent sleeves line cable and conduit penetrations, and joint strip handles head-of-wall and perimeter joints in 82-foot rolls.
Every product is UL Classified with systems for wood-frame, gypsum, block and concrete assemblies. Firestop-USA ships same-day from New Jersey at distributor pricing — and our team will match the collar or wrap size to your exact pipe schedule free of charge.

Do I need a collar or a wrap strip for plastic pipe?
Both crush melting plastic pipe; the UL system decides. Collars are typical for larger diameters (2"+) and floor penetrations; wrap strips suit smaller pipe, tight spaces and retrofits. Send us the pipe material, diameter and assembly and we will pull the exact UL system.
What size pipe collar do I need?
Collars are sized to the pipe OD — Metacaulk collars run 1.5" to 6" in five sizes for PVC, CPVC, ABS, PP and PE. For anything odd-sized, the universal collar roll cuts to length in the field.
Can I firestop a pipe without opening the wall?
Usually yes — collars surface-mount to the wall or floor on both sides, and wrap strips insert into the annular space. No demolition needed in most UL systems.
